October/November Highlights

I have a few pictures from the past couple of months that highlight special occasions....

Janae said "yes" to a dress! She's tried on so many prom dresses, but finally found "the one." It wasn't everything she'd ever dreamed of--no dress could be that big and poofy and sparkly--but this one is definitely spectacular. We had to order it in Janae's size, and it's expected to arrive early in the new year (hopefully the Canadian postal strike won't interfere!).

Janae, Alaina, Eric and I visited the pumpkin patch a couple of weeks before Halloween,

then the kids dressed up as Barbie, an anime character and an elf named Link for the big day.

We had our traditional Halloween dinner of mummy hot dogs, a skeleton veggie tray and a ghost pie before trick or treating. Alaina went with her friends, and Janae and her friends went with Eric!

Next came Remembrance Day. Janae and Alaina accompanied their school choir on the violin and cello, which made the assembly so beautiful. Some of Janae's art was also displayed in the hallway, as well as during a dance.

And last weekend, we cut down our Christmas tree! We thought Pumpkin was old enough not to climb a real tree this year, so we took a chance--and so far so good :)

And now that all that's out of the way, we're ready for December!
