Facing the Big Number

Turning 50 is kind of a big deal. I've seen it happen to other people, but I wasn't really prepared for it to happen to me. Luckily my sisters thought of a few ways to make it more fun.

I knew we were going to have a 1970s-themed party, but I was not expecting to see Tina's house completely transformed! Balloons, confetti, sparkly tinsel curtains in every doorway, a giant poster board filled with black-and-white photos of my early years,

a banner about what life was like during my birth year,

costumes for everyone (including a "50 and Fabulous" sash and tiara for me!),

and an amazing cake (raspberry lemon from Afterthoughts--SO good!).

And then there were even presents!

It all made me feel both old and young at the same time :)

I still have almost 48 hours until it's official, but I think I'll be able to face the big number after all. I have definitely been blessed with a wonderful family to help!
