Making Up for Lost Time

Now that Covid restrictions have been lifted here, Janae has wasted no time in getting back into music performance. Over the past two weeks, we have attended a violin festival (where Janae accompanied on the piano), a jazz gala, and a school district choir concert, with several more events to come before school gets out in June.

Janae made her own dress for the jazz gala, which was a wonderful evening.

(While I was taking this picture just beforehand, a woman walking by shouted, "Wherever you're going, you look beautiful!!")

Alaina came with Jason and me, and we got to hear the jazz band, ensemble and vocal jazz groups. Such talented kids, and they put on a great show.

We thought Janae definitely looked and sounded like a star :)

Last night we went to the school district's "Nights of Music," where we heard all the high school choirs as well as some elementary choirs, and even a group that played the bells.

Here are a few short but very entertaining clips (less than one minute each) of Janae's group, recorded from my phone.

I never get tired of hearing them sing, and I'm so happy it's finally safe to attend live performances again, rather than just hearing it all through livestreams!
