Another Harry Potter Fan

You might remember Ben's Harry Potter party when he turned 7 or Alaina's when she turned 6.

You might recall Janae playing Harry Potter at school, convincing my mom to knit scarves in house colors for her two best friends. Maybe you've even seen our family collection of winter wear, knitted by another long-term HP fan, which we pull out at every opportunity to keep us warm and show our true personalities.

Didn't you always think Janae would make a good Hufflepuff? :)

It's no secret that our kids have all loved Harry Potter, and now we have another young fan in the house--possibly the most devoted of all.

Eric first heard the Harry Potter books read aloud on CDs during our road trip to Prince George last summer. We got through the first two on our trip then afterwards continued on with the third and part of the fourth before I decided a little four-year-old might be too young for some of the material.

Eric, though, hadn't had enough, so I read him the first book again ... and then again.

Between Alaina, Ben, Daddy and me, I think Eric has heard it at least five times now.

He even used his beloved George as a bookmark a few nights ago, waiting for me to come and read him "one more page" before he fell asleep.

Finally, I gave in to Eric's constant asking to start reading The Chamber of Secrets (he loves Lockhart), but after a few nights of Eric being too scared to go to sleep, I told him we needed to stop. (It is pretty scary ... it made me a little nervous the first time I read it as an adult!)

We got a few new non-scary chapter books out of the library, but after a couple of days, Eric was asking to go back to The Sorcerer's Stone. So, we're reading it yet again.

As I said, he might be our most devoted fan yet!
