I'm not sure how we got lucky enough to have Eric born into our family 10 years ago, but we just celebrated his first double-digit birthday on Tuesday!
Last weekend we went to the Lego store, where he picked out his gift: a Marvel set with all three Spider Mans (Men?) and the final battle scene from the movie Spider Man: No Way Home.
We also stopped by a place Janae REALLY wanted to visit :)
Tuesday morning, I set up a Percy Jackson-themed scavenger hunt for Eric to find his gift--since he already knew what it was, he had to find where it was! He was so excited to build it, and it actually took him two days to complete.
We had pizza for dinner, then our Poseidon/ocean cake (the waves were a lot harder than they looked!). Eric and I had made some edible sea glass on Monday night, so we used that to decorate (i.e., fill in the gaps).
Then Eric went to a Primary boys' activity, where he got to play Smash Bros on a big screen at the church. Needless to say, he had a great time (so great that he's now working on a Google Slides presentation about why we should buy a Nintendo Switch).
Today (Saturday), we had "Part 2," where we extended the Percy Jackson festivities by setting up a string labyrinth (I called it Arachne's Lair), guessing the number of blue M&Ms in a party pack (Alaina got closest ... it was 171!),
and playing Capture the Flag!
And finally, here are a few extra pictures of Eric from the past few months. It's impossible to put into words how much we love this guy: he adds so much life, humor and color to our family!
(I always find selfies like this on my phone!)
And here's a bonus video :)
