Today is the last day of spring break, and we're all kind of dreading going back to school (and our usual routines) tomorrow morning!
We've spent the past two weeks walking around the lake or the park and riding our bikes around the neighborhood:
Sometimes just Eric and me (and whatever ducks or geese we met along the way),
Often Alaina, Eric and me,
But occasionally we got Janae . . .
or even Ben to join us :)
Ben had A LOT of homework (an entire careers course to complete), and Eric had a school project to do as well (try to guess the topic he chose!).
Janae did a lot of sketching,
and Alaina compiled at least 5 hours of Google Slides presentations on why she should be allowed to own a mouse.
I've been missing all the flowers and shrubs that would be starting to bloom at our old place, so we planted a few new ones here . . . hopefully they will make our yard look a little better (so sad to compare the two!).
Of course over the break there was also time for lots of baking, including a few new Easter recipes we found on Pinterest,
and a few visits to Grandma's backyard (where Eric collected a group of unsuspecting snails to live at the top of the slide).
Eric had been looking forward to a playdate with his friend from school all through spring break, and he finally got to meet up with him yesterday at the park.
There might have also been a Barbie wedding downstairs....
So, even though it was kind of uneventful as far as spring breaks go, we enjoyed the two weeks off and found lots to do. Now, we're looking forward to some sunny spring weather so our plants can start to grow!

Love all the pictures, I realized that I did only see the one with Eric and the geese!!
It sounds like a great break and looks like everyone had fun and some relaxation (I hope, in Ben's case?). If Erik wants to play with geckos too, I am overrun with them. I would love it if he can help me find the ones that have gotten into the house! 😆
That sounds like a dream come true for Eric!! Too bad we’re so far away from anywhere warm enough for geckos 😂
Field trip! We have ALL the amusement parks and beaches within a 2 hour drive ... If one doesn't mind the humidity! 😄
