You Know Summer Is Almost Over When…

We're down to the last few days of summer break, and around our house, you can definitely see the signs....

My kids have finished the summer reading club,

Grandma has celebrated her birthday,

We've visited the berry farm for the last time,

And our own sunflowers have reached their full height.

We've dropped by the schools to see the class lists, bought all the new shoes, backpacks, pencil crayons and water bottles, and put the cello lessons, vocal jazz practices, jazz band rehearsals, piano lessons, college courses, soccer practices and games, and noon-hour supervision days on the calendar (yes, I cry whenever I look at it).

The nights are getting cooler, and we're trying for earlier bed times. I even have Eric's school lunch staples waiting in the fridge and freezer (yogurt drinks and cheese buns!).

I used to love the fall, but now I find it hard to say goodbye to summer.

But as you can see, like it or not, it's almost gone.
